CWRPI Workshop “Contents and regulation of water resources monitoring”

CWRPI_workshop_320x240On 16th July 2011 at the Central Division for Water Resources Planning and Investigation, CWRPI in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa Province, CWRPI has organized the third workshop on Contents and regulation of water resources monitoring. Hosted the Workshop is Vice Minister Doctor Nguyen Thai Lai from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE).

Attending the workshop are representatives from the Department of Water Resources Management, Leaders of CWRPI and three Divisions and Sub-divisions, Sub-center for water resources Monitoring and Forecast and Mr. Jens Boehme – Project Team Leader from IGPVN project.

Participants are reported on the current status of the National Groundwater Monitoring Network in the three Regions from the three Divisions. The result from the Project to set-up new Surface Water Monitoring Network was also released. Accordingly, five out of seventy eight stations have been constructed in different areas of the whole country.

Attentions are paid to the presentation from Mr. Jens Boehme – BGR when he shared his valuable experience about groundwater monitoring from Germany and some other countries in Europe. His presentation was highly appreciated by Vice Minister because it pointed out what exactly Vietnam is concerned. According to the directions from the Vice Minister, CWRPI should take this presentation and the Monitoring Guidelines by BGR and IGRAC (International Groundwater Resources Assessment Centre) as references to complete the current Monitoring Network as well as to learn from their experience in designing the monitoring network, form of monitoring organization, data collection and data processing, writing Monitoring report as well as completion of the Monitoring Regulation that matches with the context of Vietnam.

The Workshop finished at 12 on the same day. It is expected that the next workshop on this topic will be organized in September in Ha Noi.
