Second IoT Groundwater Monitoring Station installed in Hanoi
On February 19, 2025 CRMGG together with experts from NAWAPI, its Division for the North of Vietnam (NV-Water) and the sub-center for Water Resources Warning and Forecasting (CEWAFO) successfully equipped the Groundwater Monitoring Station Q57 in Hanoi with an Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor and data transmission system.

It is the second pilot station under an initiative developed by CRMGG, NAWAPI and its 3 regional divisions to field-test IoT technology and sensors under NAWAPI’s digital transformation efforts. The IoT setup at the pilot site in Hanoi comprises water level sensors in all 3 wells and respective aquifers at the monitoring station, a weather station, a control box and solar power supply. Data is transmitted via the cellular network directly to NAWAPI servers in Hanoi.

NAWAPI and NV-Water colleagues put the IoT sensor into the monitoring well.
