NAWAPI expert visits BGR Hannover for advanced training on big data

Hanover, 10-23 November 2025 – NAWAPI expert Mr. Viet Truong Chau visited BGR headquarters in Hanover, Germany for a two-week advanced technical training in the areas of virtualization, Big Data and Hadoop infrastructure, IoT data services, Spark/ML workflows, and systematic troubleshooting. The visit also included targeted technical support to address operational challenges that remained unresolved following the relocation of NAWAPI’s infrastructure to the new building in summer 2025.

The on-the job training was conducted under CRMGG project output 3 which supports NAWAPI in its digital transformation efforts to foster evidence-based and data-driven decision-making in water resources management and climate adaptation. The technical visit also included a presentation to BGR staff from the departments for international cooperation and groundwater to inform about results achieved and discuss potentials for application in the context of other BGR projects.
