Third and final IoT Groundwater Monitoring Station installed in Khanh Hoa Province
On March 18, 2025 CRMGG together with experts from NAWAPI’s Division of Water Resources Planning and Investigation for Central Vietnam based in Nha Trang successfully equipped the Groundwater Monitoring Station QT9-KH in Khanh Hoa Province with an Internet-of-Things (IoT) sensor and data transmission system.
It is the third and final pilot station under an initiative developed by CRMGG, NAWAPI and its 3 regional divisions to field-test IoT technology and sensors under NAWAPI’s digital transformation efforts. The IoT setup at the pilot site in Khanh Hoa comprises water level sensors in 2 wells and aquifers, a weather station, a control box and solar power supply. Data is transmitted via the cellular network to NAWAPI servers in Hanoi.
With field installations now complete, the pilot will move to the next stage of NAWAPI gathering real-world experience with this innovative monitoring technology. If the results are good, there is large potential in replicating this approach for hundreds of stations nation-wide.
