CRMGG Technical Team Visits IoT and MAR Pilot Sites
From 11–14 June 2026, two technical staff supporting the CRMGG Project conducted a field mission to the project’s IoT and Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) pilot sites to inspect data transmission following the relocation of NAWAPI’s servers from Sai Dong to the new headquarters in Tran Cung.
On 11 June, the MAR pilot site in Hau Giang was visited. The equipment at the Vi Thanh MAR pilot remains fully operational after two years of implementation. At the Nga Bay MAR pilot, HAWASUCO had cleared trees and prepared the site for the MAR project implemented in collaboration with Deltares.
The team also inspected the IoT pilot stations. After the transition to a new IP address, the IoT system resumed data transmission to the new server at NAWAPI without any issues. While the monitoring pole and environmental sensors at the Q607 station in Nga Bay showed signs of dirt and weather-related deterioration, the sensors at the QT9-KH station in Tan Dinh, Khanh Hoa Province remained in excellent condition after 1.5 years of operation. Groundwater level sensors at both pilot sites continued to function reliably.
After 18 months of operation and testing, the IoT pilot has demonstrated its reliability and feasibility, providing a solid foundation for scaling up smart technologies to strengthen Viet Nam’s groundwater monitoring network.
