1. Introduction

The project “Improvement of Groundwater Protection in the Mekong Delta Provinces 2015 – 2017” (IGPVN) is implemented by National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) with funding and support from the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Germany.

The project aims to improve the the capacity in groundwater resources management and protection at central level of Vietnam by developing technical guidelines.  Additionally, the project is working in the focus provinces in the Mekong Delta to develop their groundwater monitoring infrastructure and support in capacity building.

To support the BGR team in fulfilling their duties, we need an intern student to support office administrative and partly technical tasks.

2. Job description:

– support IGPVN Project Leader on press review focusing on water resource policies and environmental issues;

– support developing and implementing of awareness raising activities
– support office administrative task in scanning, photocopying, arranging and managing project documents;

– assist IGPVN hydrogeologists in office work, during field campaigns, and training  (capacity building) in the provinces;
– assist in data processing and technical report writing.
Depending on the applicant’s academic background, the work focus can be put either on awareness raising and policy research, or on hydrogeological investigation and training.

3. Duration:
Start as soon as possible; until June 30, 2017; mainly in IGPVN office in Ha Noi with travel duty to Mekong Delta provinces when required.

Hours: flexible, from 2 to 5 hours per day and two days a week;

4. Benefits:
The intern will not receive monthly salary from the project. However, he/she can be benefit from lunch allowance, transport allowance, daily allowance when participating in project field trips. He/she will have a chance to work closely with international experts and expose him/herself in a professional working environment and understanding about water policy, public awareness, and hydrogeological research. In addition, he/she will get a certificate of intership by the termination of the contract.
