The National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation celebrated its 10 years anniversary
On March 4th, 2018, at the Almaz Convention Center, Vinhomes Riverside, the National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI) solemnly celebrated its 10 years anniversary with the presence of leaders of MONRE, foreign colleagues, representatives of international organizations and NAWAPI members.
As a long-term partner who have started a cooperation with NAWAPI to implement the Project “Improvement of Groundwater Protection in Vietnam” since NAWAPI’s establishment in 2009, the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) has sent its representative – Dr. Christiane Molt and the colleagues of the IGPVN project to attend the celebration and congratulate NAWAPI on this occasion.
Being established in accordance with the Decree No.25/2008/ND-CP dated March 4th, 2008 by the Government, and renamed to National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation in accordance with the Decree No.21/2013/ND-CP, up to now, NAWAPI is managing three Divisions and four sub-centers.
The achievements of NAWAPI since its establishment have been recognized and appreciated by MONRE’s leaders. In the coming time, NAWAPI will focus on developing advanced technologies for investigation, monitoring and assessment of water resources; effective management and multi-purpose use of water resources; strengthening international cooperation in water resources sector.
On this occasion, NAWAPI held a series of greeting events – “Vietnam International Water Week – VACI2018” including exhibition, trade links and scientific conferences. More than 20 hot issue workshops took place with the participation of experts from many countries around the world. Dr. Hoang Thi Hanh (IGPVN) on behalf of the project team presented the results of the IGPVN project in Soc Trang Province in the previous phase at the workshop on Sustainable Groundwater Development.
