Launching for the survey on groundwater licenses/licensed production wells in Bac Lieu
In order to strengthen the management of licenses for exploitation and use of groundwater and groundwater production wells in the province, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) of Bac Lieu province has developed a plan to investigate information on licenses and groundwater production wells subject to licensing. The investigation will be directly carried out by officials from the sub-Department of Water Resources, Climate Change & Sea, the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring, the Center for Natural Resources and Environment Information Technology, with the coordinated participation of district-level sub-Department of Natural Resources and Environment officials. The IGPVN project (now known as the Climate Resilient Management of Groundwater and Geohazards Project (CRMGG)) provides the necessary support so that DONRE can complete the survey program expectedly within 3 months.
This is one of the activities in the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the German Federal Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), the National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI) and Bac Lieu DONRE within the framework of the IGPVN.
From April 24 to 27, 2023, the CRMGG Project expert consolidated knowledge and skills for investigation of licenses and production well information (investigation procedure, use of equipment, fill in the Kobo questionnaires …) for officials participating in the survey; accompanying investigation teams to the groundwater exploitation and use facilities to provide direct guidance, ensuring that the teams master the investigation procedures and operations.
Previously, in September 2022, the IGPVN Project organized a training course on investigation of groundwater license and licensed wells in Bac Lieu province.
