International training Course on Water Resources Planning: Processes and Practices – A course linked with VACI 2015 International Symposium & Exhibition
This professional training was organized in the framework of Vietnam Water Cooperation Initiative (VACI), a Vietnam-based global platform, hosted by National Center for Water Resources Planning and investigation (NAWAPI) at Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) of Vietnam, to share and co-create innovative water solutions with particular emphasis on Vietnam and tropical water issues.
The 2 days professional training organized in Hanoi on 20-21 October 2015 jointly organized by NAWAPI and the International Office for Water (IOWater, France) with the participation of The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR, Germany) aimed at building capacities of the trainees on the different steps of the river basin planning process. For each session, theoretical methods and concepts have been presented but also concrete examples from the Vietnam basin experience and discussions on how to apply the different tools in the Vietnamese context. Examples from other countries (France and countries from the Mekong basin) have been used to illustrate the concepts.
Target participants were water planning professionals, managers, technicians of hydrological, hydro-meteorological and water services, civil engineers, staff of public water authorities, hydropower companies, and students. They came form divisions, departments of resource and environment, institutes, and universities of Asia. Further, the training was an opportunity for local professionals, managers, and technicians in the field of meteorology and hydrology and water resources capacity building in the river basin management planning.
International training Course succeeded in a joyful atmosphere, the teachers awarded course completion certificates for students. Everyone took photos, goodbye VACI 2015 and see you again.
